Best friends.

The last few years I have made a photo  book and gave them as Christmas presents. I had started one for this year (all pictures from 2009) and just never got it finished. My mom requested it, so I am now working really hard to get it done before the holidays! Anyway, going through all of my pictures I realized just how much Landon and Trevor are best friends. Pretty much all of these pictures of the two together were not prompted, but this is just how I found them and captured that moment of brotherhood and friendship.  I alway find them doing things together. Especially sitting together. We have a big couch, yet they always sit as close to each other on it as they can. Also, two chairs in our living room, but they always want to sit in the same chair together. I love the bond that they are forming at such a young age, it is something you can't teach. It just happens. Which makes it seem, in a way, magical.

Here are a few (okay, way more than a few) of the many, many, many pictures of my boys being best friends.

Facebook Fan Giveaway

Thanks to the Baby Makin(g) Machine giveaway I participated in, I got to 100 facebook fans and then some really fast. The two winners of my giveaway had custom items made by me, of course. Here is what I made them, a tote with removable strap for one winner and a sketch pad and pencil carrier for the other winner. They were really fun to make and I loved the fabrics. I hope you both like them as much as I liked making them!

Mayo

This post isn't about a sandwich, sorry, but Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. That is were I am blogging right now. Almost a year after I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, I finally made the step to see a specialist in the Gasteroenterology department. I have no idea what this appointment is really about, hopefully to help me feel better and have more energy. If you can believe it, I actually get very tired and have little energy during the day. But, then have a hard time getting to sleep at night so I end up sewing until too late. It's not the best cycle I am in, but I do get a lot of fun sewing projects done.

I just got my vitals taken and am waiting to see the doctor. I don't like taking anything, ever! This could be interesting, because on one hand I want to feel better but on the other I don't want to be over medicated. Hmmm, I wish I had an idea of what this appointment involved. To be continued...

Dreaming.

Every now and then, I kind of stop the projects that I am working on and have to make something really girly. A girl can dream, right? Out of that dream yesterday came about a toddler scarf, that is the definition of girly! I had the idea in my head, and I think it came out even better than I imagined it. My cousin had made a quilted scarf for Trevor's birthday (which Ethan has taken over), check it out on her blog Sew Many Crafted Blessings. So, I have the pieced look in my head now (and such a great way to use up scraps of fabric, and that is just what I did) and then I saw the ruffles on a scarf over at the blog Living with Punks, check it out. Put those two things together and then I added a slit to put one end through, and there you have it. The Girly Girls Ruffle Toddler Scarf.

Most of this is true, but really I made it because I have the sweetest little cousin turing ONE and needed a great birthday gift. That just doesn't have as much flair to it as me helplessly dreaming of a daughter!

Ted said Ethan is going to hate me for these pictures in the future. My response to him, well I don't have a daughter..wink..wink. Ted was okay with the scarf photo after all. Because he realized it was this, or another baby.
