~2 Years~

Two years ago today, my life was blessed more than words can say. My sweet (and now also sassy) baby boy, Ethan was welcomed into this world. I don't know what I would do without that blonde haired blue eyed baby boy. He was born 17 days early, and was delivered in less than one minute of pushing, and was absolutely beyond perfect. He was such a wonderful baby and is turning into quite the big boy.

I still call him baby, I know I mentioned a while back that I needed to break myself of it but it has been hard to stop. Ethan, on the other hand, has never really thought of himself as little. He was walking at nine months and completely potty trained at 22 months. He acts as tough as his big brothers and is not afraid to get right in the middle of a wrestling match between them. He was quite a bit slower to talk then his older brothers were, but he sure is making up for it now and talks my ears off. I love every bit of it, and could just sit and listen to him talk and tell me stories.

Ethan. He is a beautiful (and in most recent pictures, messy!) boy, inside and out, and I feel so very very lucky to be his mom. I loved you yesterday, I love you more today, and will love you even more tomorrow. Happy birthday Ethan!!!

~18 weeks~

Baby is doing great!

~Quilts~

I just finished up a quilt top, it is 80"x90"...HUGE! I now need to find a soft, squishy fabric for the back of it and get them quilted together. It is quite bright, but really fun prints.

Then I picked up 33 different half yard cuts of fabric to make another quilt top. It is the Sunshine quilt and is a free pattern from Amy Butler. Look at this yummy fabric! I am a bit intimidated to start this quilt, but the cute fabric should get me going!

~Farming~

The boys and I spent the morning and early afternoon out in the field with Ted. Landon and I (and Ethan when he was done wanting to ride in the tractor) spent the time in the truck, because he was not feeling good. I remembered to bring my camera with us this time. I actually got Ted a camera for his birthday to keep with him while farming, but the boys managed to smash it in less than a month of having it. Any way, we had a great day with dad and here are a few of the pictures to show it. Trevor was in heaven and did not leave his dad's side all day long.

~Different~

This pregnancy has been so different than those with my boys. Of course the first response to this is, "Maybe it's a girl?" or "do you think it's a girl?". Even with all of the differences, it is really really hard picturing this baby being a girl. I just don't see that happening. Back to the differences. I was so much sicker this time around, had insomnia, was peeing in the middle of the night (one night it was 5 times, how are you suppose to sleep when you are up every hour having to pee!?) and now as I am getting further along I am noticing that I am totally gaining weight differently. I never really gained much in my legs and butt, and always had that big round belly just right out front. WELL, lets just say the thighs are reaching new limits already, that goes for my butt, and lovely love handles as well. And instead of that cute round belly, this time it is just spreading out and not looking all that cute. I never really felt "yucky" about my body changes with the boys and this time, just yuck! (sorry, if I offend, just how it is for me this time around for some weird reason) I also feel like I have yet to connect with this baby and pregnancy. By week six of all of my pregnancies (even the angels) I was completely attached, and I have yet to get that feeling. Hopefully that attachment will come soon, as I am kind of upset that this (more than likely) last pregnancy I am not being able to cherish and enjoy. I loved being pregnant with all of my boys, and I love being pregnant this time also but for some reason it is just different and I can't put my thumb on it.

Look at how similar my belly is at around the same time (16ish weeks) with Trevor and with Ethan and how different it is with this pregnancy! (I don't have many pictures with Landon)
That would be Trevor in that big belly:)
Here is Ethan around the same gestation as the picture above.
And this is future baby k. today at 16.5 wks

~Flowers~

For the last three years or so (my memory, or lack there of, I blame on motherhood) my mother in law, Lois, has treated me and brought me along with her to pick out annuals for hanging baskets and planters as a Mother's day gift. We travel about an hour to a Mennonite community that has greenhouses full of BEAUTIFUL flowers. The two places that we stop are Hoover's Greenhouse and Deerfield Greenhouse. Lois and I headed that way early this morning and I once again came home with so many many many flowers! We are also putting in a large shade garden this year and I was able to find some great perennials to start this garden. If you are in the area make your way to Hoover and Deerfield! Huge, beautiful hanging baskets for $35...and I mean HUGE and BEAUTIFUL. The first year I bought two of these handing baskets, and then kept the baskets so following years I just buy new flowers and fill them myself. On the way home we stopped out at Pinter's (need to check that spelling), that is just outside of Decorah. WOW! Make a trip out there, so very worth it. They have so much out there, from great structures and sculptures for your gardens, tons of perennials, vegetable plants, annuals, to a really nice gift shop and bakery with lots of fudge. I did not try the fudge, but it did look amazing! I can never stop with one bight of fudge, so best to not even try it for me!

On a side note, I found this cool purple basil plant. I wonder what my pesto will look like with this??

Here are my flowers! Before I planted them, I organized them by color and then decide what I wanted to go where from there. Of course I had helpers, so they didn't stay that organized for very long but it did help me see what color schemes I wanted to do and how much of each color I had to do it.

All organized by color in my flats
Greens
White & Blue
Purple
Pink
Orange & Yellow

Here they are all potted in my 3 hanging baskets and 3 planters

~Trevor's Love~

He loves our chickens and chicks. Trevor is just a huge animal lover, and is so happy snuggling up one of the chicks or out in the chicken coop holding the chickens. I was able to get a few pictures of him the other day. Our chicks are growing super fast. Trevs is holding Peach and then Gloria, they are beauties!
